A BIT ABOUT US

Keeping retirees informed

We have quarterly luncheons with terrific speakers  who give us updates on Creighton developments.

We keep our membership fees low (currently $15/yr.) .  Fees help defray the cost of the luncheons, memorials and other projects.

Currently we have about 200 members in the GRAYBACKERS.

HISTORY

When Rosemary (Ro) Reeves, secretary to a succession of Creighton University presidents, contemplated her forthcoming retirement in 1987, she was distressed at the prospect of losing touch with her longtime associates and friends at Creighton. After checking with other universities and organizations for ideas, Ro received the go ahead from then president Fr. Michael G. Morrison, S.J. With the help of Fr. Jack Zuercher, S.J. and Joan Lanahan of Campus Ministry, plans took off in February 1987 to create a retiree’s organization. Bylaws were created and are updated as needed by a majority vote of the board.
