What have we been up to . . .
June 14, 2022 Graybacker picnic Omaha Field Club 11:30
Lots of fun with 60 in attendance. Too hot to sit on the porch but the ice cream machine got lots of attention.
April 12, 2022 Our luncheon was held in the Harper Center Ballroom. Thank you Fr. Hendrickson for your generosity. Our speaker was Beth Sampson, Pastoral Minister for Faith Formation with CU Campus Ministry. Thanks Beth, for a very interesting look at all the fine work you and others do on campus to build faith.
October 21, 2021 Our luncheon, in the Haper Center Ballroom, featured Dr. Linda Lazure. Linda presented a documentary of the history of the Creighton Child Care Center. Thanks Linda, John Krecek, and many others for this very interesting documentary.
When Rosemary (Ro) Reeves, secretary to a succession of Creighton University presidents, contemplated her forthcoming retirement in 1987, she was distressed at the prospect of losing touch with her longtime associates and friends at Creighton. After checking with other universities and organizations for ideas, Ro received the go ahead from then president Fr. Michael G. Morrison, S.J. With the help of Fr. Jack Zuercher, S.J. and Joan Lanahan of Campus Ministry, plans took off in February 1987 to create a retiree’s organization. Bylaws were created and are updated as needed by a majority vote of the board.
A BIT ABOUT US
Keeping retirees informed
We have quarterly luncheons with terrific speakers who give us updates on Creighton developments.
We keep our membership fees low (currently $15/yr.) . Fees help defray the cost of the luncheons, memorials and other projects.
Currently we have about 200 members in the GRAYBACKERS.
